Death is a storm coming and usually we have time to prepare now before it arrives but we do underestimate it by not taking it seriously. I would prefer to be considered foolish and be prepared then to not be prepared and regret the consequences eternally.

Maybe this is why the United States is having so much trouble (according to the news and politicians) in their finances. Pro 16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Turning you back to a foe could have dire consequences in a fight for life but this code doesn’t mean make sure he is dead before walking away. Once a foe is defeated, we are to keep our face towards him to see if there is a way we can help him. He is now the poor and downtrodden.  Maybe that is part of what is meant by “”If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink.” Romans 12:20 Also look up Isaiah 58:10 for a clearer understanding.

   ”Don’t wimp out” or “Man up” to challenges we face as part of our lives would be more in line with our 21st century lingo. As Christians we can have great comfort in God. He even said “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
